So I'm listening to my 80s disc.

And "Cum on Feel the Noize" comes on. My natural inclination is to crank this puppy up so I really can feel the noize.
That reminded me that my husband, Buzz, who likes Neil Diamond and Carly Simon also likes some screaming electric guitar (SEG) songs. This is one of them. In fact, he acted appropriately one time while listening to this song. He cranked it up so much that he blew out his speakers. Yes, sir, that's how to listen to this song!
Then I remembered a similar incident that I had. (Except that I was in my 30s.) I had just made a new mix tape for myself (back before CDs were burnable) and I called it, naturally, Rock 'n' Roll, Part II. I had a song on there by Live - "Pain Lies on the Riverside". I was driving to work in my brand new Camry and I turned up the volume so much that I blew out one of my speakers. At that moment in time, I spoke aloud to myself in the car - "How old am I??"
So I got the speakers fixed. And then I did it again - on exactly the same song.
I traded the car in with busted speakers. I was too embarrassed to go back to the dealer to get my speakers fixed a second time.
Now fess up - what song was playing when you blew out your speakers?
Ok, you've almost got my story right. The way it played out was like this:
I was playing Quiet Riot in my two tone gold Delta 98 and I cranked it up so loud that I blew out one of the speakers.
Since I was poor, I didn't replace the broken speaker, I just used one. (You should hear "Black Water" by the Doobies with just one speaker! It'll make you see god!)
So anyway, I was driving around one day and QUiet Riot came on again, same song. I cranked up my speaker to 11!! And you know what happened then?
Of course. I blew out my other speaker. Just like you, same damn song!
Well, now I see that I don't need my own blog, I can just take over your comments! Sorry 'bout that, hon.
