I have a secret that I've been keeping. I got to thinking about this the other night when I read a post on Meredith's site. I told her not to be ashamed of any artists she likes. So it's time to heed my own advice and come clean.
When I was up the other night, watching Nick @ Nite, a commercial came on. It started out just the way that Nick @ Nite's normal "announcing a new show" ads do. I just knew that they were preparing me for the traditional one-week marathon (as they always do for a new show) and then to tell me that they have added to the rotation - "The Monkees"!!! My heart skipped a beat and I squealed like a little girl! But, oh the pain when I realized that it was merely a commercial for a new collection of their songs. Utter, bitter disappointment.
You know, being the left of center person that I am, it wasn't Davy who owned my heart back in the day - although he was just about as cute as a button and he was the lead singer on my favorite Monkees song, "Valleri". No, I had eyes only for Mike. Who wouldn't?

Good job, honey. Very healthy. You know that the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. (Besides Mickey was so obviously the coolest)
